OOC| Sorry I was gone a bit
Cid blinks like he's coming out of a little daze, smirking. "Oh, the scar's from a little," he breathes in sharply, wincing, "Misunderstanding." He ducks his head slightly, reminiscing. "We understood each other quite well by the end of the conversation."
He nods towards a huge slab of concrete, diagonal to their position. "I think we can probably climb up that thing." He leaps onto the base of it, a bit amazed when it doesn't collapse beneath him. "Or at least scooch." He turns around and inches backwards up the slab, knees bent, as if to demonstrate the scooch motion. A small snicker escapes, and he turns around again, struggling upward.

ooc| That's okay. ^-^
Libitina shuffles her feet uncomfortably, but nothing else escapes her shell as Cib explains the heritage of his looping scar. "A nasty misunderstanding that turned out to be," she says lightly, voice not betraying distrust that her traiterous eyes no doubt shone. "I'm sure you did, but at what cost to the other?" She chuckles and flicks her tail over her mechanical limbs.
She studies the large hulk of concrete silently for a moment, eyes surveying it critically. "I believe so," she agrees and stretches her forefeet. After the male leaps upon the rocks, Libitina jumps to a smooth slab inches lower, her body lurching to find balance. Having found it after a tense moment, she turns and laughs smoothly. "I hope not, it may take too long."

Cid decides to let the topic of his unpleasant encounter hang for the time being, panting by the time they get anywhere near the top. Two steps forward seems to mean one step back this way. His lip curls up in an unpleasant snarl with the effort, teeth clenched tightly. When it seems his legs might well fall out beneath him, the exit is in sight.
His sinewy muscles nearly vibrate as he stretches out, finding his center of balance along the heighth of the concrete's tendency towards the outright vertical. Giving one last push and an unbecoming grunt, he emerges onto the road, his pupils adjusting grudgingly to the invasive streetlights.
His head turns this way and that, trying to get his bearings, before glancing back down to see how Libitina's doing.

ooc| Sorry it took so long, I was working on my goat sale. XD;
Beads of sweat resembling pearls form on her forehead with the effort of keeping up with Cid's pace, but able to hold her own quick leaps among the rough man-made ground. Scratching sounds emerged from the friction which was caused by her paws and the ground, the only noise she made, save for the breathing her lungs needed to keep her going. Thank goodness her balance was stable enough, death would come quickly if she stumbled even the slightest amount.
Thin, flexible muscles strained against pulling her weight up the seemingly endless amount of grey stone, her throat seemed to burn with the exhausting effort of keeping her lungs full of that life-sustaining air. With a small grunt of obvious strain, Libitina pulled herself up upon the road, elbows nearly collapsing with fatique.
Shaking--this time not with fear, Libitina managed to smile grimly when she was looked upon. "That was...fun," she spoke in between deep breaths.

OOC| Silly, you will have a Rivet. *brings out the Parmesan cheese again*
Cid snickers, shrugging a little. "Sorry, angel." He gives a leftright look. "I think I know where I am." He nods to the left. "This way." Cid begins to scurry off, rethinks it, and looks back at his companion. "I mean.. when you're ready." Again that friendly grin returns, not quite matched with the rest of his features.
His look is one of predator vs prey as he watches the spotted Rivet, sizing up how she's handling everything. Eyes shifting to the left, calculations piling up in his mind, how long, how far, and how much further she's willing to crusade around the streets.

ooc| I'm sure you'll get a Rivet after the breedings. XD;
Libitina steadies her breath; her lungs are no longer gasping for the chilly air surrounding them. "It's not a problem sir, I'm sure I've climbed worse," she speaks and looks down the man-made mountain they had just ascended. She pauses for a moment, allowing the cool night air to relax her rigid muscles; but then nods. "I'm ready," Libitina says and stands, thankful for flat ground.
She seems to shrink from his unusual, predatory stare; wishing the dark sky could blanket her in navy coloring. The air was energizing her, her body was already refreshed enough to put her on guard. Trust was nothing she wore on her sleeves, and it was probably wise especially around this one.

Nodding, Cid stands, shaking briefly. He breaks into an easy trot, less concerned about their positioning now that they're nearing the end of this journey. His bright claws flash against the darkness, reflective rays of light bouncing off his metallic surfaces like bits of confetti.
He slows down visibly as they approach the downtown area. For the most part the streets appear dead, unoccupied and soundless. Anyone who's lived here long knows this to be a false pretense, and Cid is no exception. He alternates to a speedy creep, slinking around the corner of an electronics store he seems to have picked out from the start.
Tossing his head over his shoulder, blue eyes glittering like marbles in the twilight; he looks serious now, the jovial undertone he's had since their meeting has faded. In case this weren't enough of a hint, he lifts one claw carefully to his lips, indicating silence would best be kept here.

Libitina steps lively into a slow lope, which brings her to Cid's shoulder. Her eyes reflect the pale light of the stars above, as well as the emptiness of the area which surrounded them. She can tell by the way he moves that they are nearing the end of their travel, though what that will mean for her is still uncertain. But, like the marionette she deeply is, she follows loyally by an invisible string.
Feet slow until merely walking on the rough gravel, her head moves from left to right to catch the view of the deserted streets. The silence was deafening, reaching in her ears until she became trapped in her own mind. It was too quiet, making her too vulnerable and out in the open; a pawn waiting to be sacrificed. Her body slows until Libitina is stopped, almost held in place by tar.
His look doesn't help her predicament; but she obliges and stays silent, allowing the silence to echo through the nothingness.

Realizing he's probably frightened his companion, Cid gives her a quick nuzzle slash headbutt, trying to loosen the atmosphere, though his tense stature doesn't change. Again once more with the "shh" gesture, he continues around the shop, dropping his belly to the ground and crawling through a nigh invisible crevice beat into the side wall.
Cid's actual size is truly revealed as he squeezes through the tiny defect, fur giving way to the opening's jagged circumfrance. Once halfway through, he props up on an elbow, lets the life out of everything below his waist, dragging his legs through like pasta through a strainer.
He backs up to the edge of the wall, blinking in the relative dark of the store, waiting.

ooc| Sorry it took so long, I lost my muse for a while there.
The friendly movement was wasted on Libitina, who sensed the tense air between them was still as strong as it consistently seemed to be. Then again, her anxious nature was probably why she came to that response, but at least this time she seemed to be correct. She was no where near to talking when Cid added his gesture to remind her, and merely nodded in acknowledgment. Libitina's eyes took in the shop they seemed to be entering, and this like the rest of the town seemed to be deserted and quiet.
Those months of under-eating finally paid off, for the slim figure was able to slip through the crevice with only a wince of effort. Darkness met her eyes, consuming her vision and welcoming her into the abyss. This mysterious moment only lasted a second before her eyes became used to the lack of light. Head inclined at an angle, her look said it all: Why are we here?

OOC| No prob. ^^
Cid caught the look, smiling a little. He returned it with a you'll-see, nodding to the right. His familiarity with the store is apparent when he moves about it, bending to the right here, picking up a foot there, avoiding touching anything.
He tiptoes artfully up a staircase to the building's storage attic above, veering off the flight near the top onto a beam that traverses the very ceiling. Duck and balance is essential here, at least for Cid, else his head bump the boards overhead.
Every muscle in his body freezes in motion as a shuffling sound takes place beneath his perch, within the store somewhere. He looks to Libitina, excited, motioning her closer.

Careful not to disturb the silence which envelops them, which means avoiding touching anything in the store even though her eyes are still adjusting to the dark. Libitina matches Cid's small smile with a flicker of a grin; short lasting but plastered on her face all the same. She follows the Rivet in front of her, trusting him to deliver her to their destination.
Treading carefully up the rickety staircase, and then balancing atop an oak beam high above the floor, Libitina cannot deny herself a look down. The height would, if she was anywhere else, cause her to freeze her motions, but being here, she didn't have a choice but to continue.
But the shuffling sound below causes her to give in to some of her mounting fear, and she bites her lower lip tentatively. Seeing Cid excited, and not nervous in the least, causes a weight to lift from her shoulders, and she moves closer.

Cid blinks into the darkness below them, confirming his suspicion.
"There's someone here," he whispers, barely audible, "This is going to be even better than usual." As if that's made everything clear, he finishes creeping across the beam, reaching up to fiddle with a metal box on the side of the wall.
He can be seen doing something suspicious with the wires, though it's not all too clear what. Finally something clicks, literally, loudly, and he pulls his claw away fast, almost falling from the beam.
Even as he's regaining his balance, five spotlights come on beneath them, revealing the store's shuffling occupant- a thief who's now in a lot of trouble. An alarm of the most unholy magnitude blasts, and several other noises follow, primarily those of the robber tripping over his own legs.
Cid laughs a silent laugh, mouth agape, fangs showing, looking at Libitina like isn't this great?
